A Baby Shower

A baby shower is nothing but a party for which we decide something important for our newborn child or an expected one. In the party the parents may receive gifts and they may conduct many activities that would entertain the guests. It is very familiar in the United States where almost many parents conduct this function.

There are some places where there is a custom that party should not be celebrated until the baby is born. People try to make it as a best baby shower by introducing games and entertainment with a cake for the sake of their baby. It is also to bring individual attention for the baby and almost like a get together function for the baby.  Earlier there were few traditional values like only women are supposed to attend but nowadays a baby shower is becoming very common among the people all over the world. In India Hindus usually celebrate seventh month as a grand function to declare it to their relatives formally but recently the western culture is also implemented in India. It is also for the parents of the baby to know much about what the baby actually needs after birth. Some people celebrate for the adopted babies also without considering any rituals of their religion. They first send invitation to announce the party to their relatives and friends and then continue with other formalities. It is almost similar like a bridal shower where they conduct function for the bride and the groom or only the bride.
